PORTAL is a photographic series depicting the same fictional space at varying scales. The structure presents a hallway branching in multiple directions - a transitional zone that hints at movement toward an undefined elsewhere. The patterned wallpaper, designed by William Morris - who traveled to Iceland in 1871 - adds a layer of historical reference and spatial ambiguity. Morris´s designs, known for bringing elements of nature into domestic interiors, evoke a sense of the outside world enveloping the inside, as if the home were being subtly turned inside out. Through nuanced manipulations of scale and structure, the images create a disorienting visual experience, where the boundaries between shrinking and expanding spaces become difficult to discern. Although the architecture remains unchanged, the eye continuously zooms in on the surface material, creating a sensation of internal movement - as if the space were shifting, not physically, but perceptually, within the viewer´s mind.
